Asunción | On the west balcony at sunset |
I arrived in Paraguay on February 18, 2003. My first impression was..."How is it possible to be this hot???!!!" I was not expecting the humidity to be as overwhelming as it was. The average temperature for the first two weeks was around 40ºC. I am living in an apartment building on the corner of Caballero and Eligio Ayala. Being on the 14th floor is incredible. My views consist of the downtown core of the city to the west, and Argentina across the Rio Paraguay to the north. The sunsets here are breathtaking and, after sundown, the bats sing you to sleep!!! |

| Pros: | "The weather is hot, the streets are relatively clean, there are just the right number of street vendors." | | Cons: | "The weather is REALLY hot, the food is rather greasy, the city is not well kept for tourists." |
