Avila de los Caballeros, land of Songs and Saints

Avila of Knigths, Land of Songs and Saints, is the highest Province Capital of Spain, situated at 1131 m over sea level, over river Adaja.
Still keeps the mediaeval walls, with its nine gates and eighty eight towers. If you go through one of those nine gates, you will find a charming mediaeval town.


Avila de los Caballeros, Tierra de Cantos y de Santos, es la capital provincial más alta de España, situada a 1131 m sobre el nivel del mar, a orillas del río Adaja.
Aún conserva las murallas medievales, con sus nueve puertas y ochenta y ocho torres. Si atraviesas una de esas nueve puertas, encontrarás un encantador pueblo medieval.

    I'm wondering how long it would take me to get through all nine gates and eighty-eight towers. I'm wondering even more if they'll even let me enter that convent! Perhaps if I mention that I was named after a nun! (Ripley's Believe it or not fact!)
