The rose

Alhambra
"Abierta estaba la rosa,
pero la tarde llegaba,
y un rumor de nieve triste
le fue pesando las ramas..."
Federico García Lorca

"Open was the rose,
but afternoon came,
and a sad snow whisper
was weighing the branches..."
Federico García Lorca (Grenadian)

Federico still lives here

Federico García Lorca, one of the best Spaniard poets, was born in Granada in 1898. When you visit the city, you feel his presence in each and every corner of his hometown. And you feel his poetry in each rose, each tree, each sunset.

"Under the gipsy moon
things are looking at her
and she cannot see them"

Take a walk on the quiet side

Granada is a very nice city; its streets, squares, riverbanks, ancient districts, invite to have a quiet walk.
