March 11st, 2004: a tragedy marks the day break; a terrorist attempt flies over Madrid. The short distance trains full of students and workers were mercilessly attacked; more than 180 dead people, and almost 1000 injured people... No comments; just a deep sorrow.

11 de marzo de 2004: una tragedia marca el cominezo del día; un atentado terrorista se cierne sobre Madrid. Los trenes de cercanías en los que viajaban estudiantes y trabajadores fueron atacados sin piedad; más de 180 muertos y cerca de 1000 heridos... Sin comentarios; sólo un profundo dolor.

    Thanks for the excellent virtual tour of Madrid. Going from bar to bar to enjoy the "ir de tapas" sounds like fun. My grandson will be celebrating his 16th birthday in Madrid next month.

    Great Madrid tips! I like your photo of the fountian at Colon. It was one of my favorites, now they have had the water turned off for months and have put some ugly plastic on the part the water used to go. :( Saludos desde Madrid!
