Student's Heart

Salamanca
Salamanca is a very nice town in Castilla-León, well-known for its University and beautiful architecture. A peculiarity of Salamanca is its double cathedral: the old one, built between 12th and 13th centuries, is a wonderful Roman construction; the new one, of 16th century, is an awesome building with Gothic, Renaissence and Baroque elements.
I took this picture at the Roman bridge of river Tormes; from there, both cathedrals can be seen.

The 20th Century restorers of this 16th Century cathedral took some liberties when replacing the sculptures on the portal. That sculptures are not so ancient at all. ;-)
