The path begins

Looking for the glacier

I decided to make an activity called "minitrekking"; this activity begins inside the National Park, when you embark at the pier "Puerto Bajo de la Sombra"; after crossing the Brazo Rico (a part of lake Argentino), you reach a shelter where you leave your picnic box and you meet the mountain guides, who will lead you to the glacier. Then, you begin a trekking path through the forest, looking for the glacier.

Every story comes to an end... What can be better than drinking a good whisky with thousands years ice? Cheers!

Well, well, well... - Parque Nacional Los Glaciares

Well, well, well...

The reward!

As we have been good children, and everyone behaved properly, the mountain guides rewarded us with bonbons and whisky; the whisky was not "on the rocks"... it was "on the glacier"!

Coming down! - Parque Nacional Los Glaciares

Coming down!

Easier, indeed!

Once you reach the top of the glacier, you have to come down... which is easier! Despite you keep on walking with the clamps, with your legs open and stepping on firmly, the effort is much lesser.

Cinderella and the prince? - Parque Nacional Los Glaciares

Cinderella and the prince?

People: get ready!

When you arrive at the edge of the glacier, the mountain guides will put you some metal clamps on your shoes; these clamps are necessary to trek on the ice. Before the trekking begins, they teach you how to walk with those "stilettos".

At the edge of the glacier - Parque Nacional Los Glaciares

At the edge of the glacier

Closer!

After one half an hour or so trek, we arrived to the edge of the glacier; until now, everything was easy... What will happen from now on?
