Can there possibly be too much chocolate? - Paris
Angelina: Can there possibly be too much chocolate? Angelina Review

There are many places in Paris said to have the best chocolat chaud (hot chocolate). My girlfriend's favorite is Lenôtre, specifiacally the location on Rue Cler. Another loves the chocolat served at her corner cafe. But for me, and a lot of others, the best, most decedant chocolat chaud served in Paris as at Agelina.

First, the room is charming in a shabby chic sort of way, after all it's been keeping Parisiens and visitors happy since 1903. And it's the whole experience of the service. What makes their chocolat different? The chocolate tastes as if it was just melted (or concocted) as it was brought to your table. It is rich and velvety beyond compare. It is accompanied by a pitcher of whipped (unsweetened) cream. Then you play mad chemist (or chocoholic) and make your mixture. You won't forget it!

I have enjoyed the chocolat chaud at any time of day. As a start to a busy day early in the morning to with croissants, for lunch, after enjoying a delicious quiche Lorraine, and in the afternoon, after a chilly walk in the nearby Tuilleries. There is often a line here, which should tell you soething!

If you LOVE chocolate, make the time to include Angelina in your plans...you won't be sorry!

Favorite Dish: In case you couldn't figure it out, my favorite "dish" here is the chocolat chaud!

L'été en pente douce: Keep this a secret, please! L'été en pente douce Review

This is a small place, popular with locals, even though it's in one the most tourist intensive areas of Paris, Montmarte. It's a little hard to find, but if you manage to get here, you'll be glad you did!

Located about a third of the way up the steps on the right side of Sacré Coeur at the end of a street, it's a quiet haven in a bustling neighborhood. Keep this a secret please...I want to be able to get a table on the terrace!

Favorite Dish: Without a doubt, the BEST warm chèvre on toast salad in Paris! It's served with soft, yummy figs and is great with a glass of red in the cold weather or a crisp white when the sun is warming the terrace!

Address: 23, rue Muller

Directions: From Marché St Pierre, take the steps up to the first level. From Sacré Couer, take the steps down on the left (when facing the city), cross rue Lamarck take the next set of stairs down.

A La Mexicaine: Mexican in Paris A La Mexicaine Review

Very good authentic Mexican on a quaint street in the heart of the right bank.
There are about 20 tables. The atmosphere is quaint and it's nicely decorated with Mexican handicrafts. The margaritas were frozen (I prefer them on ice) but they were good anyway and the Sangria was nice. The mole sauce was some of the best I've had and my husband's tamales were large perfectly prepared.

Three of us had drinks (two pitchers of Margaritas), a starter, three dinners, and coffees for 130 Euros.

We'll go back here.
