District Of Barranco: Water ballons fights
  • Tip Rating:
  • Hello, how's it going? I just wanted to talk about a festivity taking place in peru, which can seem weird for new comers, The carnavals , this takes place in february, at this time of year people pelt each other with water ballons, flour and shoe polish, they throw them from everywhere, don't complaint because policemen will laugh at your complaint, just enjoy it.

    District Of Barranco: Nice city
  • Tip Rating:
  • Barranco is a real nice place, It has tons of Spanish influence but its actually very culturally and racially mixed with several little clubs that show Afro-Peruvian dances. Almost every weekend night I believe, on friday and saturday nights...in the center of Barranco, near the train musuem, theres a food sale of typical Peruvian Creole Food. its delicious and inexpensive. There's often creole music to go along with it and its pleasant. Also, on weekend nights...theres a little fair selling jewelry and other little nice thingies. Barranco is a must. There's also lots of night clubs where u can met nice people
The bridge(puente de los suspiros) area is one of the best spots in Barranco. I really love how you have to walk on a narrow, little cobble-stone road to get to the top of the cliff, for a great oceanview. It's a great spot, but swamped with couples making out at night. The restaurant has great anticuchos!
