Canoeing on Muskoka's Lakes

The Muskoka Lakes region is teeming with small, quiet lakes that are interconnected to one another, making it perfect for canoeing or kayaking.

I was lucky to have a friend with a cottage and a canoe and we enjoyed quiet paddles along the shoreline, spotting beavers and loons along the way.

Cycle the Severn Rail Trail

This is a well maintained bike path created over an unused railway line. You will pass some spectacular scenery as pictured here. I think fall would be the most beautiful time to visit.

Kayaking Georgian Bay

There are some quiet waters and beautiful scenery in which to kayak near Parry Sound. I rented my kayak from White Squall, just north of Parry Sound and was lucky enough to have a friend guide us through the rocky coastline for 4 days and 3 nights. You can set up camp anywhere on the Crown Land.
