I do not consider myself a "city person". Usually while on holiday I avoid large cities and prefer to spend my time in the mountains, forests or beaches. However, I loved New York City!
Although it was quite expensive to eat and drink, we found the International Hostel very reasonable and clean and the subway made getting around quite cheap and easy.
We drove down from Windsor and parked the car in the suburbs for around $7/day. We then took the train into the city and hoofed it from there. |
| | What I loved most about New York is that you could easily get around by foot and would come across interesting architecture and familiar landmarks everywhere. We walked up the Statue of Liberty, across the Brooklyn Bridge and through Central Park. |

ZanieOR Thu Feb 10, 2005 20:05 UTC I love VT. Whenever I start missing a place I've been, I can just visit virtually. As a country girl, I like visiting big cities. Central park is definitely a high point. | vichatherly Tue Jan 4, 2005 17:21 UTC Excellent New York pages, full of info and great pics. I'm in the process of updating mine asap. | Stephen-KarenConn Mon Jan 3, 2005 13:49 UTC You seem to feel the same way about big cities that we do - but I agree that NYC can be fun. Great night-time shots of Times Square and from the Empire State Building. | Bwana_Brown Fri Aug 27, 2004 23:18 UTC A great page on New York City! It is one of a kind and you seem to have captured most of the high points in this short vignette!! |
