Last overseas assignment

by Ron&Deb - last update: Feb 4, 2003

Alone on a small island

I was stationed here for three years. The first six months was without my family so I got to see a little of the this Tee-niny island. It was if nothing else different from my country upbringing and a little unsettling. We weathered a record breaking typhoon and the birth of a second son. Our quarters were spacious and haunted by the ghost of a little boy killed on Sugar Loaf hill, just to the rear of our backdoor. The hash house harriers, a great running group and friends of every nationality, kept us sane and fit. I was sorry to leave, but glad to be heading home, eventually.
