Christie Miedema. Loving to travel, to learn languages, to meet other people. Nice to meet you! Piacere, aangenaam, encantada! I live in Utrecht, which is a beautiful city in the centre of the Netherlands. I lived in the Netherlands the greatest part of my life, the only exception are the seven wonderful months I spent in Siena, Italy. I'd love to be able to arrange some other longer stays abroad. At the moment I'm thinking about Berlin, London or Barcelona. Fortunately I am blessed with parents who love to travel, so before my 18th birthday I had already seen the biggest part of western Europe and some places in the US, Canada and South Africa. And still they take me and my sister on travels we couldn't afford ourselves, like the trips to Istanbul and New York we made the last years. I'd love to make trips far away on my own, but my state as a students confines me to western Europe (though I travel often enough). I hope my site will help you to get some tips for your trip. Except for the regular tips also tips which books to read and what to eat being a vegetarian like myself. If you got any particular questions, don't hesitate to ask! |
Book tips Check my packing list tips, because I am planning to add some reading tips to all the destinations. Holidays are the best times to read, but not to much of course, because you'd also want to see the most beautiful things of the country. I'll list the books that have something to do with the destination. I already made my tips for Rome, Barcelona, Greece, Italy, Verona, Strasbourg and Zakynthos. Others will be added soon. |

Food tips for vegetarians Beside my tips for readers I will also add some extra tips for vegetarians. Being a vegetarian myself I know it's sometimes difficult getting enough replacements for meat or eating vegetarian at all in restaurants by example. I'll list them under the local customs tips, why? Well, I don't know where it fits exactly, and I think food has someting to do with the local customs, hasn't it? I already added my tip for South Africa and I'll be adding those for Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece soon. |

Last trip A week sicily with only history students! Can it be better? I've seen beautiful medieval mosaics and ancient temples. It was all beautiful and furthermore.. a chance to practise my italian. Parlermo is really a beautiful city. A had never been there before. And Sicily, which I had seen before is so much more wonderful in spring than in summer! |
