The coalmines

back in the 50ties and 60ties, Genk grew from a small community into a typical coalminerstown. Immigrants from all over Europe came to work in the mines. They made Genk to what it is now : a blossoming city with a multicultural nature.

I was born and raised here. For several years my profession took me to other places and I have lived in different countries. I've lived in big cities and in small towns. But Genk is still home and I feel good, having returned here.
