Spend a few hours in the past...

Kids really like this place. They have people (volunteers) walking around in period costumes. If you have a civil war buff in your house, grab your hat and get to the dock!

Pros and Cons

Pros:History, nice boat ride, nature trail.
Cons:Buggy on the trail, bring deep woods off!
In a nutshell:Nice family outing, or afternoon date!

Great info on an overlooked attraction! I never got onto the island...actually boated up next to it..but off limits to boaters. Went to Delaware City too late for the last boat over! Great Delaware info pages too!

I had no idea that there was so much stuff to do in Delaware! If i'm ever in the area i'll be sure to check out the civil war museum!

What a fabulous place, I can imagine filling up a digital card here on photos :-) It all sounds very realistic like you are back there... this is fabulous to really get into the history.
