"Latvia before, now Tenerife" Aig's Profile

As from end of Y2009 I´ve relocated to Tenerife. The climate is good and, generally, I like the place a lot. Infrastructure and services are good, prices for everyday goods and services reasonably cheap. Quite a lot of interesting things to do in Tenerife - enough to keep any first-time visitor busy for at least a couple of weeks ... not counting time on the beach ...

In the southern part of the island all the business is about and around servicing tourism and part-time residents. Somewhat boring. As well, I miss my 23 km sandy beach ... in Tenerife it´s like ¨living on the rock¨. I like jogging, there is about 10km non-stop promenade paved with tiles, rock tiles or asphalted ... but the tiles/rock are so hard that even with the most advanced shoes one can not run every day ...

But then, there are so many other things to do ... like fishing, hiking, swimming ... or pubs, restaurants ... or ... you name it ... almost everything goes on this island.

Latvia - the best in summertime

I live in Latvia (Jurmala/Riga). In summertime (Jun-Sep) it is absolutely my choice of residence. 23 km beach is perfect for cycling, jogging and hanging out on summer evenings. Life is comfortable AND interesting here (in many other North European cities it is just comfortable, but not interesting).

I'm still searching for a warm place to live while it's harsh winter in Nothern Europe. Still haven't found it. Either climate or infrastructure or visa issues is a problem.
