You discover some of the most wonderful sights in Venice simply by putting the maps away and just having a wander. Follow your nose and take whichever route takes your fancy. The only problem with this is that if you ever find anywhere you'd like to go back to, you will never find it again - almost guaranteed. So if you do find somewhere you'd like to return to, try to work out where you are and make a note. I've totally lost some wonderful restuarants and shops because I never took any notice of where I was. Maybe one day I'll find them again..........
