I suppose the first thing people will think of when you think of Nottingham is it's connection to Robin Hood.

In relation to the legend of Robin Hood a must on the visiting list has to be Sherwood Forest and in particular, the Major Oak.

Nottingham is also famous for Lace, has a fine castle, is home to Trent Bridge Football and Cricket grounds and sits astride the River Trent.
