I hired a car for 1 week and drove accross some varying terrains from fethya to Capadocia region. I had always wanted to see this fantastic place as I had heard so much about it, If you haven't I have included a picture of some of the tufa "chimneys" which have been eroded over centuries and caved out by many civilisations, some are still lived in today, and I stayed in one which had been made into a pansion, this cost 25000000 lira each which was about £10. |
| | Kabak camp Another pic and more info on this fantastic place can be found on my homepage. This, for me was the highlight of my trip to Turkey, Complete peace and quiet and very few tourists. (hope I don't make this place sound to good as it would be a shame to see it decline into a touristed area) |
Istanbul I had to go to Istanbul as my flight left from there so I decided to spend a few days in this busy city, to see the sights and to say I had been there! Wasn't to impressed as it was october when I went and beginning to get cold, temp was down to 15 degrees and it was raining, just like England. Most impressive thing was the grand bizarre but did not buy much as I like to travell light! Thing about the turks is they think just because you are from england you will be able to afford anything they have to offer and give an unreasonable price to begin with so do not forget to barter!! | | |
