I first visited Koh Phangan at the start of my Thailand trip in Feb. I stayed on the island for 5 weeks, before deciding i should see a bit more of Thailand so forced myself to leave the beach i had been staying on. I'm sorry for being selfish but do not wish to give the name but I have this picture for you, if you find this place you will understand my cagyness! |
|  | Full moon party I went to two full moon parties, February and May. Feb was by far the busier of the two with an estimated 10,000 people, the weather was great, the party was better than expected and everybody there were happy, I did not experiance any trouble and was there from 11pm on the night of full moon until 2am the day after, thats right 27 hours of partying. I went to the after party held at backyard bar, which i found to have the best music and people.
The only bad thing about full moon is that haad rin has become more like spain than Thailand, it smells and people use the sea as a toilet. Check the picture out and look at all the rubbish (it is tidied after the party but is a shame it has to be) |
| | Tattoos I had 3 tattoos done by a fantastic artist on Thong Nai Pan Noi called Mr Big. These were done in the traditional Thai way with bamboo, not a machine. Cheaper and better than anything else i have seen in England.
If you are on Koh Phangan and are interested in having a piece of art tattoed on you, you could do no better than visit Mr Big, he uses new needles each tattoo and encourages you to watch him replace them. He is a great artist and if you have an idea he will perfect it and you will be proud to have it for the rest of your life! Even if you do not want a tattoo go and watch him work and tell him Gavin sent you. |
