Laos for 15 days

Luang Prabang

Lovely french colonial city, has stayed pretty much the same lay out for the last 100 years.
Stayed in Phoussie g/h, very clean and only $5 a room. Very hospitable owners, most laos people are very friendly and will be happy to talk about where they live.

Vang Vieng

What a fantastic place, lots to do with lovely scenery. Went caving, tubing and kyaking, visited the blue lagoon and cave which had the clearest fresh water i have seen, rope swings to dive from but a very bumpy road to get there.
Happy shakes/pizzas helped pass the evenings as most places shut at midnight.
Could have stayed here alot longer than i did and i will go back one day.

Vientienne

Capital city of Laos just over the friendship bridge with thailand.
I do not like cities but found some nice places to chill out. One of which is Buddha park, if you are ever there you must visit this place. Has been described as similar to angkor wat, scaled down of course, plus it is only 50 years old.
Another nice place was the golden temple, go in the evening as the young monks beat in the drum towers either side making the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end.
