The Holy Shrine

My religious brother-in-law took me into the Holy Shrine in Qom. It is a large mosque that contains a large library, the mausoleum of the sister of a popular and famous imam. The complex also holds the academy where all muslim clerics in Iran must be taught. No cameras were allowed in the academy, but we did enter the courtyard for a few minutes.

City for religion

As I understand it, the entire city of Qom exists to support the religious colleges and universities there.
