I've been going to Ottawa (well Kanata) almost every year since I was a kid to visit family but I never actually did any of the 'touristy' things.
I was here on a work-related trip for a week and stayed in downtown Ottawa and had an awesome time. I visited Parliament, the old jail house, Museum of Civilization, Currency Museum, Royal Canadian Mint, Rideau and Byward Market.
I didn't realize how beautiful Ottawa really is. Even in the dead of winter, most places I went had a pretty decent crowd of tourist which was nice. Don't let the Canadian winter scare you off by the way! Yes, it may be cold but it's incredibly beautiful in downtown Ottawa! |
