No parlez vouz frances, (I don't speak French), and if you don't either, don't let that stop you from going! Of course, if you visit a country where English (or whatever your native language is)is not the language, its better if you can pick up a few important phrases, but you can get by just fine without much at all! Most people speak English, and if you attempt French, they will appreciate the effort, and realize that communication would be easier in English and they will start speaking if they can!
My favorite spots for museums are the Musee D'Orsey and the lesser known "Musee Marmottan" where the entire basement hides about 30 beautiful gigantic Money paintings! You can also watch a video about Monet on the second floor. There is a great giftshop as well!

| | This museum (the Musee Marmottan) houses the private collection of the 19th century industrialist Jules Marmottan and his son Paul. Upon the death of Paul Marmottan, the collection, together with the his house, was left to the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Among the paintings are numerous works by Monet and other impressionists, making for a collection second only to the Musée d'Orsay. |
