Welcome... to sun land

In Algarve you have 2 Options:

From Faro to West side - the Tourist Algarve.
In this part my favourites are: Vale de Lobo resort, a little expensive (15 km from Faro); and Lagos, a little nice town (80 km). Lagos has a lot of hotels, but my favourite is Meia Praia beach Club (not expensive), it is 300 meters from sand beach, in a tranquil plain place, only 2 km from the town.

From Faro to East side - the Traditional and Typical Algarve.
In this part my favourite places are: Mantarrota, a very long sand beach with a nice little village (40 km eastern from Faro); Barril beach (25 km); Tavira island beach, in front of Tavira town (30 km), with a short crossing in a boat.

By the way, if you prefer beaches with lots of rocks, there have more in the west side; if you prefer plain sand beach, is in the East side from Faro.

Well, Albufeira is the principal reference of tourism in Algarve, as there are famous personalities coming there for vacations. Anyway I don’t like it, there are lots of people, after all it’s not a nice place as many others places in Algarve. So, I don’t recommend Albufeira, so as Armacao de Pera and Praia da Rocha, that are crowd towns too.
