Irish Passage Tomb

Newgrange is best know as the Irish passage tomb. It is surrounded by a kerb of 97 stones. The mound covers a single tomb consisting of a long passage and a cross shaped chamber. You need to take a guided tour of the passage. Before you go inside your tour guide will tell you about the significance of the famous entrance stone. Inside the chamber the winter solstice phenomenon is explained as well as the burial ritual.
