Breathtaking! We spent 6 days in Rome and we easily could have spent another two or three weeks. Most of our 6 days involved sightseeing (though one day completely involved recovering from jet lag), and we only hit the highlights of Rome. There was so much more I wanted to see, including the catacombs St. Peter's Basilica. With only 6 days in this magnificent city, something had to be dropped, and that, tragically, was the museums. The only one we visited (if you can count blazing through in two hours visiting) was the Sistene Chapel, and there were several more I wanted to see. We did not miss out on the gastronomic delights of Rome however! The restaurants were pleasantly magnificent, and gelato twice a day still is not enough. The nightlife was fun and we typically found trouble when we wanted to, though the nightlife dropped off significantly during the week.

Rome is a must-see for all!

  • Cons:Don't try to rent a car, or God forbid a scooter!

    oh those lingering and laaaate Italian dinners...glad you know that gelato twice a day is part of the FDA's food pyramid though! ;-))
