Will have to get the exact name of the place. The pizzeria (with cow decorations) is a fine value with comfortable seating.

    Favorite Dish: pizza margherita

Good food with a cafeteria line and bar. The staff remembers you after a couple visits and one of the the barmen is really a nut. It's a good place to watch team Roma kick some butt.

Favorite Dish: Entrees change each day. I often get the ubiquitous roasted chicken or Italian style steak with a side of spinach.

Also just down the block is some good gelato.

In 2007 this changed from a cafeteria to a sit down restaurant. The prices are higher, I have not yet tried the restaurant

Changing cold and hot entrees daily. Reasonably priced friendly service and you can always find a seat.

Also serves dinner, but I prefer lunch. The crowd arrives at 1:00pm

Favorite Dish: Salads and hot rice dishes are good. Salads with meat get a bit pricey (relatively).

Huge wine selection with decent prices (somewhat higher with intro of the euro). Friendly staff. Sometimes the American southern rock music is too loud or not the right ambiance, but sometimes it's just perfect. And you can always sit outside.

Favorite Dish: They also have small entrees, but go for the wine.

Either coffee bar has good coffee. The staff at the farther one, which is probably more crowded, has more showmanship/personality

Favorite Dish: I always get coffee, there's a caffe grande at the top of the menu. Friends have had the hot chocolate which was really just straight melted chocolate--RICH.

Staff has always been nice and the prices aren't bad, especially for such a tourist filled spot.

Favorite Dish: I usually get pasta. They have daily specials and the rabbit is good. The pizza is ok, but I've had better at other places.

  • There aren't many coffee places where you can sit for a while, but hit this place in the afternoon (I like 4:00ish) and it's all yours.

Favorite Dish: My #1 coffee for flavor in Rome

Spacious and comfortable with good service and ok prices. There's a small outdoor area, but inside is best. The food is very good and with a group you can share a variety of dishes and spend time chatting.

  • About 6 small high tables with stools with a cafeteria style food line in back. Basic setting with good food.

Favorite Dish: At this point I've only had the rice stuffed grape leaves with a yogurt/dill sauce. They were excellent--not too grainy and not too soggy. You take your choice of drink, including Greek beers, from the refrigerator case.

I was brought by a couple from San Francisco who love the place. I saw that they have lamb they slice off a rotating upright spit

Basic dishes for a decent price
I can't rave about the flavors here, sauces all seem similar and somewhat bland
but the service is very friendly
and the setting is comfortable and nice

we go to this neighborhood place pretty regularly

They don't have hot mustard which Americans may be used to, but they have hot pepper flake sauce you can add

Favorite Dish: I usually get chicken with cashews
my husband always gets the grilled shrimp (about 4 large shrimp)
    and shrimp fried rice
