Beyond Limits: Dive gear in naama bay

Name of Shop: Beyond Limits
For a town that is such a mecca for diving it was surprisingly empty of proper dive gear shops.Everywhere sells the cheap mask and snorkel sets but if you want a shop with a wide variety of top gear then this is the best one we found.
What To Pay: We found that BCDs,computors and regs where about the same as in the UK,suits where more expensive and masks and fins where cheap.

Address: Upper floor at the rear of the Naama Centre
Directions: It is a bit hard to find because you cant easily see it.The Naama centre is at the end of the main pedestrian street in Naama bay. It is next to the Hard Rock cafe near the main taxi rank.

Janis Beer Shop: Off Licence/Alcohol shop
Tip Rating: |

Name of Shop: Janis Beer Shop
Janis beer shop is one of the very few places that you can buy alcohol that is not a hotel, bar or restaurant. There are two others that i know of in sharm but this is the cheapest, has the widest chioce and unlike the others does not sell anything else.It just sells booze.
What To Buy: Beer,or specifically lager. The only ones I touch are Stella Premium(6.4%) Stella Export(5.2%) Meister Max(8%) or Meister(5.2%).You can also get Stella Local(4.5%) and Sakara Gold(4%).Local spirits are available with names like Johnny Waler(whisky) And Gordoons(gin). As you can guess by the names they are not the real thing and taste pretty bad,but for £3 a bottle they are ok as mixers.
What To Pay: For a half litre bottle of Stella or Meister about 7 EGP or 1€.The same for the smaller but stronger Meister Max. 30 EGP or 4€ for 750ml spirits.

Drinkies: Another alcohol shop
Tip Rating: |
Name of Shop: Drinkies
It is an off licence or beer and wine shop if you are not from the uk and the thing that is special about this one is that they deliver, mainly for free. They may only deliver in the Hadaba,Om el sid,old town side of Sharm though I do not know this for sure. There is now a Drinkies in Naama bay,at the end of the main pedestrian street,at the side/rear of the Movenpick hotel (opposite end to the Naama centre).
What To Buy: The local Stella Export at 5.5LE (55p) for 500ml(5.2%abv) and Meister Max 6LE(60p) for 330ml(8%, yes, thats right 8%abv) are two of the highlights, but whilst out there in Aug 06 we came across a new champion by ABV beer, the Sakara King,10%,blimey. They now stock a bigger range of alco pops, all locally made,10% I.D. edge being the pick. They also do wine but we did not see any spirits, but local spirits are available in some of the supermarkets.

Caliente: Pizza parlour

Name of Shop: Caliente
Great pizza etc at an outstanding price. They range from 18LE (£1.80) for you basic C&T up to 25LE (£2.50) for a full loaded special, and they are more than big enough for one person. They make and cook them fresh in front of your eyes.We found that most of the time one between two was enough. They only sell soft drinks but they have no problem at all with you either bringing your own alcohol or popping out to the beer shop(30secs away) to get your own. They are also open from 11am until 3am every day
What To Pay: It would be very hard to spend more than £5 a head including pudding and drinks
