  • These are the gardens of Wallestein Palace. This building (1624-1630) is currently home to the Czech Minister of Culture. It is not open to the public but you can see the Sala Terrena with its beautiful frescoes.

More than twenty houses were demolished to build the palace and the gardens.

Address; Letenska ul. Prague 1. The gardens are near the metro station Malostranka.

  • This museum is dedicated to the life and the work of Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). He was an Art Nouveau artist.

Mucha made some posters for Sarah Bernhard, the famous actress of that time.

Some lithographs, paintings, picture, memorabilia and pages from his sketchbooks are on display here

Address; Panską, 7. Prague 1. This museum is not far from Venceslav Namesti. See Jindrisską. The nearest metro station is Mustek.

    Kutna Hora: Kutna Hora.

  • Prague Kutna Hora
  • The church of S. Barbora.
  • by Maurizioago

  • Kutna Hora is a nice town about 65 km. south-east of Prague. It was a silver mining town in medieval times. In fact, in the 13th century rich silver deposits were discovered in the vicinity of this town.

The highlight of Kutna Hora is the gotic Curch of S. Barbora. Its building begun in 1368 and was completed only in 1905. The construction work was interrupted several times. It was financed by the miners' guild. The church has many frescoes inside.

I went to Kutna Hora by train, from Hlavni nądrazi. The train stopped in Sedlec. There I took a bus to Kutna Hora. Otherwise I should have walked at least three kilometers.

I should recommend not to go to Kutna Hora on sundays, because there are not many buses from Sedlec to the town and vice versa.

Hello Maurizio, thanks for visiting my Paris page. On the otherhand, Prague has been on my list for a very long time and has not had time to plan it. Thanks for the tips...they will surely inspire me to go.

Very good tips about Prague. We found the Italian food to be quite good surprisingly-even better than a few places in Rome.

We loved our trip to Prague and Kutna Hora. Glad to see that you were able to also visit them.
