"Bucaramanga!!!" Bucaramanga by egpj

This is a great place to go visit. The ride down from the airport can be a little shaky though. To get down from Palo Negro airport it is a thirty minute taxi ride (between 10,000 and 12,000 pesos). To get to Bucaramanga you go through the village of Giron. A beautiful picturesc place. If you are a gringo though you stand out like a sore thumb. There are plenty of police in the area though so it is very safe. About as safe as Colombia can be I guess. Just don't go strtolling down dark alley ways like an idiot! If money is no object stay at the Dann Carlton hotel. There is an Italilan restaurant right next to Pizza Hut that is pretty good. That is where the picture is from. Also the Sandwich Cubano place is pretty good. There is also a sandwich stand right beside the photo japon. They sell roast beast sandwiches with a type of salad dressing on them. Very cheap and very good! Also photo japon can print digital pictures. All this centers around the main drag on Calle 33.

• In a nutshell:Colombia has such dangerous rep that Bucaramanga is little known.
