Beaches

seal refuge
This coastal town and surrounding areas offer most any type of beach one can imagine. Surfing, bike trails, dog friendly beaches, state parks, volley ball, and eateries are just a sample of the coastal attractions.

Santa Barbara Beaches:
Arroyo Burro Beach ( beachside restaurant, showers and dressing rooms. Popular place to walk dogs.)

The Breakwater and Yacht Harbor (yacht club, restaurants, tackle and gift store, boats for rent or charter, and the Fisherman's Market)

East Beach (16 volleyball courts, playground and patio cafe).

Leadbetter Beach (scenic, outdoor restaurant, volleyball courts and showers)

Stearns Wharf (Shops, restaurants, wine tasting, harbor and coastal cruises, whale-watching trips, para-sailing, pier fishing )

West Beach (beach rentals, shops, restaurants and a bike path, outdoor wading pool, and lap pool).

Surrounding area beaches:

El Capitan State Beach
Gaviota State Beach Park
Goleta Beach (stinky!)
Refugio State Beach ( Scenic coastal park lined with palms, camping ) Rincon Beach (Surfers fave) Butterfly Beach
Carpinteria State Beach
Carpinteria beach

Scenic

There are so many impressive acts of nature and man in Santa Barbara it is hard to decide which is the best but it is a fair toss- up between the beaches, the variety of palms, the wildlife, the architecture, the mountains, and the ocean views,

Sunset

The sunsets in Santa Barbara occur behind the mountains. Santa Barbara always does things amazingly different.

Great picks on the two restaurants! They are less tourist heavy, have good food and great locals for a walk after your meal.
