Garlic Capitol of the World I lived in glroy for about 8 years over the course of my life. From 16 to 24 and then a short stint at 29 before I moved to Portland. What I can tell you is Gilroy is 34 miles from San Jose because all my jobs, school and friends were in San Jose. Not a whole lot to do in Gilroy. When I moved their in 1988, the hot teen thing to do was to hang at the safeway in you slammed minitruck. Needless to say, I stayed home. Besides my dramatic outh, Gilroy is a great place to raise a family. Gets hot during the summer and you can smell the garlic, onions, & shallots they grow every (EVERY) morning. If there the last weekend in july, you must go to the Garlic Festival. Hot, packed and some amazing food. |
