Hey there, I'm Marc.
I feel like Mr. Roark from Fantasy Island...welcome, welcome to my travel pages...if I'd only named my dog Tattoo.

Anyway, here is a conglomerate of my take (or insane ramblings) on places I've been or know like the back of my hand. I hope you enjoy them get a good recommendation for dinner or at least get a laugh.

I'm not shy about sharing personal information or giving my completely one sided biased opinion of places - so take what I say with a grain of salt, or as absolute fact as my little head would like to believe. Actually my head is quite large, big English noggin! What I'm trying to say is I hope as you read my pages you'll get to know me and my sense of humor and priorities pretty quick (food, laughter, drink).

Oren & I "wrastlin"at a White Trash Party

Born and raised in San Jose until I was 16 (great place to grow up on the 70's by the way). Did 8 years of hard time in Gilroy (not prison, Gilroy just kind of sucks to live there as a teenager) then back to San Jose, Campbell and a few bordering cities until I did a few more month in Gilroy and moved up to the Portland Area in 2001.
After 6 years in Portland my wife finally convinced me we needed to be closer to family and friends (translation her family and friends). So we moved to Austin, TX in April of 2007. Once I get a feel for the town I'll write some info, I haven't visited much since I convinced my wife to leave here in 2002. I can say it is very much like Portland except the weather - talk about the flip of the coin. No more dreary rain for 5-6 months just muggy heat for 3-4! I guess this means I might actually get a tan again...not likely.

Travel

Feets don't fail me now, wait they did.

I wish I would be able to travel more, but the thing about a mortgage is you have to pay it...

I'd love to travel more than I have but you do what you can. When I do get out, I can tell you what is fun (or not) and a few great places to eat (or not). Life is about having a good meal and a drink or 4 with friends right?
