Venezuela is a westernized, relatively expensive (in 2001, before the devaluation of the Bolívar) country whose sights are often only accessible through pricey package tours. The level of travel comfort is almost as high as in Europe and the male population tends to be rather unfriendly or simply indifferent (not the women!!!). But the country's tremendous natural beauty made me forget all these negative aspects and come home overwhelmed and full of great memories. The palm-fringed Caribbean beaches, colorful Andean valleys, the highest waterfalls in the world, dense jungle, the unique vegetation of the tepuis... Trying to describe Venezuela's nature, one quickly runs out of superlatives.
