Once upon a time Mostar must have been one of Europe's most picturesque towns,and pretty it still is. Situated on both sides of a turquoise, natural river with beautiful archtitecture and terrace cafés on the shore.
But it's so sad to see all the wonderful buildings in ruins or full of bullet holes, the famous medieval bridge blown up.
Mostar is undergoing heavy restoration, and hopefully it will shine in its former glory in the future, but it will take many more years until the scars of war have completely vanished. For now the town is a tragic reminder of the devastating nature of war!!! When will we ever learn? |

YU was born in Mostar. My parents have big picture of this town oh the wall. (With the old bridge) |
