Lalargh Palace

By Indian standards, Bikaner is quite a pleasant and friendly city. It's less touristy than other cities in Rajasthan and you even get rickshaw rides at reasonable prices without much bargaining.
This is surprising, for Bikaner has a lot to offer. The old city is full of beautifully decorated havelis and the fort with the integrated Maharaja palace is also well worth a visit

After visiting the sights, we spent a couple of hours in the city's two luxury hotels, Haveli Bhanwar Niwas (see restaurant tips) and the former Maharaja abode Lalargh Palace. Actually these two grand buildings are tourist sights, as well, and great places to spend some time drinking tea and feeling wealthy.
