Spoorwegmuseum (railroad museum)

However Utrecht might be a city worth visiting, I didn't. Too busy for me! (mind the traffic jams!)

Still, this place, called "Spoorwegmuseum" is FAR OUT! A little "off the beaten path" of Antwerp, he he. What makes another 1,5 hour drive?

Dutch beer might be not as good as Belgian brands, they don't have our secret chocolate recipe, but they sure have a perfect commercial feeling. They have the best imagineers and they have the know how to turn a simple hall into a paradise.

This is not a dull museum, but a wonderful educative family themepark to suit all tastes. Let's go there!

This recently modernized interactive museum, located in an old, restored railroad station of the past century, welcomes you to the exciting world of railways.
Great discoveries, such as old steam engins and more recent trains and carriages, a dream trip with the Orient express, a walk trough an English mining village, a dark ride and much much more... you won't regret visiting this place.

Besides the station, with it's beautiful turn of the century interior, the museum is divided in 4 different " theme worlds", just as the different lands in Disneyland.

That railroad museum sounds fantastic! I'm especially curious about the reconstruction of the gare de l'Est in Paris in the late 19th century, since I was just there again last week. That's where the direct trains arrive from and depart for Frankfurt.
