"A wonder of nature and history" Mont Saint Michel by Martinewezel
Mont Saint Michel Travel Guide: 296 reviews and 957 photos
We arrived at the moment of outgoing tide. As waves washed over the parking lot right under the rock, we had to leave our car in a grassy pasture between the sheeps, a few miles from the Mont.
A fair walk of 25 minutes, with a spectacular view.
- Pros:No traffic possible on the Mont.
- Cons:The many stairs can be an obstacle for disabled persons.
- In a nutshell:An enchanting rock

Hate the thought of getting caught in quicksand, that would be a nasty way to go if help wasn't near. Stunning place to visit, been on the wish list for quite a long time!
Another European gem Martine...I could spend some time here easily..Great intro picture...Id love to visit here sometime!
Great tips and photos. What spectacular views! While crowded with tourists, Mont Saint Michel looks like a wonderful place to visit. Cheers, Bill
Hi Martine, thanks for your visit to my Mannheim page. I've never been to Mont Saint Michel, but it looks spectacular, at least from a distance. But thanks for the warning about that narrow street with all the touristy shops and medieval torture museums.
Great Intro photo -- I really like the none of the ramparts too -- very nice page, thanks.
I discovered a beautiful shop in Mont Saint Michel which sales typical products of Normandy and Brittany. Moreover, the shop assistants are very friendly. This shop is really out of the ordinary... Have a look: www.mont-saint-michel-shop.com
That page brings back many nice memories! It's a fantastic place to visit, indeed!
I have heard of that famous place and wanted to go there some day! Thanks!
This is one of the places in France I still need to visit. Good info and lovely pics.
