    • This big bazar is situated in a very old building. In the shops of this bazar you can find fascinating antiques, silver and gold accessories, handmade ceramics, carpets and other souvenirs. Really this is a bazar with an oriental atmosphere.

    • This is one of the most elegant suburbs in Izmir. Between old houses there are modern hotels and some of the most modern and expensive shops in Izmir.

    • There are the most expensive shops and the most nice restaurants and cafes. I think that we have a same place in Athens, known as Kolonaki area. They are same:))

    • The symbol of Izmir the Saat Kulesi or Clock Tower stands in the heart of the city of Konak Square. It was a gift from Sultan Abdulhamid, and was built in 1901 in an elaborately decorated Ottoman style.

    • The center square of Izmir is called Cumhuriyet Meydani. This is the central area of Izmir in which all four and five hotels, car rental offices, and travel agencies are situated. In the middle of the square the monument of Ataturk is standing.

    • The statue of Ataturk stands in the middle of Cumhuriyet Meydan and presents Ataturk sitting on a horse and facing the sea. Erected in 1933 the monument commemorates the day Kemal came to Izmir with the turk forces.
    Actually this is the day that hurts greeks, as many greeks dead that day by the army of Kemal, But history and war hurts and unfortunately this is happening in every war and in every part of the world.

    • Along the sea there is a big and long park, with grass and some nice Art constuctions, or sculptures. I think that it is a nice walking along the city , near the sea. The best hour for walking is late afternoon or after the sunset.
