Herring Cove Beach

...is a great spot for beachcombing. There were smooth, round stones everywhere. We also found 22 Sand Dollars. (That's 16 Canadian.)

East Quoddy Lighthouse

This now unmanned beacon was home to many lightkeepers and their families in the past. It looks out over the Bay of Fundy and has the distinction of being the most photographed lighthouse in the world. (I am unsure who officially tracks this statistic.) Be forewarned... the tides are treacherous here and in order to get over to the lighthouse requires waiting until low tide, and then crossing the tidal area to climb(and descend) a couple of fairly steep metal ladders. If you get caught lingering, and the tide comes back in, (which it does quickly) you will be stranded for several hours.
Momsie and the kids will not be impressed with you.
Trust me on this.
