Den Bosch nice friendly town

by jessys - last update: Jan 13, 2003

Old town

Den Bosch (or 's-Hertogenbosch) is a very old town, over 750-years old. Therfore it has a lot of old buildings like St. Jan Basilik or the city part "de Uilenburg" which is near the ABN-AMRO ner the station, here you can also make boat-trip on de Binnen-Dieze, this is a small river which goes under some of the old house (realy nice trip to make)

Bossche Bollen from Jan de Groot

If you come to Den Bosch you should eat a "Bossche Bol". This is pastry filled with whipped cream and covered with chocolate, please do not try to use a fork or knife... It won't work, just use your fingers!!! This way they will taste the best.

The best "Bossche Bollen" you can get at Jan de Groot, this backery is near the station, if you ask everybody will know.

Bourgondic Brabant

People in Noord-Brabant (the name of the provence) love to eat, that is why Den Bosch is known for their restaurants, there are a lot, they differ from Italian to Indian and form cheap to very expencive. If you want to eat somewhere and you cannot find anything you like, just ask anyone on the street, the people are very helpfull, and almost everyone speaks english
