Ok..maybe my page title is a wee bit harsh. I ended up in Cluses to see the Tour De France last summer. The town was...shall I say...quiet. I stayed for two nights here...thank god for cheap wine. Seriously though..I did get some great hiking in and had a great spot in the alps to see the tour. I was stuck for a ride back into cluses when I was up in the alps and I was very fortunate that my thumb was working that day! I experienced a beautiful drive through the alps and the driver wasn't even that crazy. Don't tell my parents!

Go Lance Go!!

This is a picture of Lance Armstrong on his way to winning the tour. We hiked our butts off this day so we could catch him on the climb. The tour is insane--lots of crowds and sweaty people..but loads of fun.

Go Lance in Tight Pants!!

This is the next day after we saw them in the alps. They started the next stage in Cluses. We were so ready to leave this town right after we saw them take off. The crowds were huge and a bit obnoxious at times. But it was all worth it. : )
