Singapore!

The Trip Down...

Me and my pals took a train down to Singapore...yeah yeah...against my other friends' advice to take the bus or just fly.
Then again, the train is just so convenient cause' the station is just 5 mins away from my house...and a train ride should be more comfortable right?...or so i thought...
We had a second-class sleeper cabin...the other was a First Class cabin...anyway, since our coach was quite empty, it was comfortable, but knowing me, I brought along extra luggage for shopping, and ended up having less space to sleep, so if you're bringing extra luggage and taking the second class sleeper, ask the attendent if the nearby bunks are occupied. If not, then dump your luggage there...
The train was delayed so we arrived in Singapore later, much ater than expected...(I knew I should have flown....haha) Arrival at Woodlands, Singapore Immigration was quite fast...Malaysian officials board the train at Johor Bahru to stamp your passport.

Shopping! Sightseeing...

Okay- I admit, my greatest sins are shopping and eating (hey, at least its not drinkin' and gamblin')
Well, I had a shopping list from my mom cause' she needed some kitchen stuff of a particular brand she couldn't find here. I was also shopping for a new discman and some newer earphones...and also a shopping list from my brother ), very long one
Anyway, I already had many tips for shopping and sights..., So for transport purposes, we had an EZ Link card, and wow- it's simply so convenient. Any bus, LRT or MRT, all with EZ Link. Just tap and go.
Of course, before you go, do your homework. We went searching for the Portable CD Player all around...Sim Lim Plaza wasnt really the cheapest place though...we found a cheaper one...in Orchard Road! Only slightly though.
My mum's stuff I easily found in CK Tangs, with a wide variety of other stuff (and nice food!) downstairs. Around the corner, you MUST try Bread Talk's floss bun- I had so many! Its simply great (for KL people, you might wanna know that it's quite the same as the Breadstory's Signature Flossy)
Lunch at Paragon...there was a home-cook restaurant downstairs...service, sorry to say, wasnt that good though.
Went to Giordano to get some clothes...extremely friendly staff...
At night, went to Geylang for some frog porridge...very nice!!!

Next day, Orchard Road again...more shopping, went over to Marks and Spencers at Wheelock; Borders next where my friend bought a ton of books which were out of stock back here. I got myslef some CDs. Lunch at Burger King...dinner near Petir Road.

Argh...going back home...train ride again...Wish I could stay longer to meet Avril Lavigne...

I've always wanted to take the train up to KL, but I know it takes much longer. Is the view at least nice, or did you not see anything because it was night?

The MRT is wonderful. Every city should have one!
