Friendship is a quaint christian fishing village on the end of a pennisula bordering Waldoboro and Cushing, Maine. It's known for being the home of the Friendship Sloop which is a special old fashioned sail-boat. It's a perfect out-of-the-way Summer Attraction for those who enjoy peace and quiet as well as many oceanic activities. Some highlights of the town include fresh, locally caught Maine Lobster, Sea Kayaking among any of the several beautiful islands surrounding the town, Chartered Sloop Tours, Salt-water Fishing (mackeral, bluefish, stripers, etc.), Island Camping. There are a few easily found Inns from which to choose from as well as numerous cottages that become available for rent on a seasonal basis. There is a local hardware store and local convenience store for you to purchase goods at as well as takeout food available.
An area highlight that is within 25 minutes driving time from here is the Maine Lobster Festival held in Rockland, ME in August.
All-in-all, Friendship is a beautiful town that will capture your heart and keep you coming back year after year.
