Voronezh - although previously unheard of by the entire population of the UK is actually quite a large city - almost 1 million. I'm living here for my year abroad as part of my uni course. Voronezh is very easy to get to from Moscow, just an overnight train from Pavletsky Station - at a cost of about 550 roubles for a good second class bunk (kupenii). The town doesn't actually have that much to offer the tourist at all really; but seems to be the home of various writers and poets and the site of Peter the First's shipbuilding project (despite Voronezh being miles inland) |
