"Egypt" Egypt by Joe_Green

Me and my best friend Sinead, both lacking anything better to do decided to go travelling, due to the constraints of our budget we chose somewhere cheap to fly to, we chose Egypt. Arrived in Cairo to find the temperature was 115'c (yes we knew Africa was hot, but bloody hell!). We also discovered our luggage was in Frankfurt. Anyway, to cut a long story short. Stayed in Cairo; Saw Pyramids etc; Travelled East to Port Said (northern port on Suez Canal); proceeded down to Suez itself; Went further West into Sinai where we remained for a while in a coastal resort of Dahab. Of course went to other places, but that bio reprasents the majority of the trip. Was challenging, hot, congested, somewhat alien to 2 middle class folk from the English rural midlands, and marvelous, definate intention to return, especially to Sinai which is amazing.

• Pros:Wonderfully intense, challenging, varied.
• Cons:Exploited, potentially dangerous, lack of organization
• In a nutshell:Egypt is somewhere I would truly love to return to, but not to see the Pryamids, more the 'real modern Egypt'
