Born in what's now and have become a rather poor and neglected city, the setting for which the country peoples struggle to rid of oppression were staged…time and time again...Manila, Philippines.
Sad to say, I've not much first hand knowledge of my birth place except for those now blurry remember whens....I've been uprooted during the mid 70's still budding and then replanted here in California's silicon valley. My Manila then is a place long gone….
Having grown strong roots, plenty of branches, twigs and full of leaves for shelter, I'll say this place became my home 28 years to date. Unwilling to move nor budge, I stayed.....until the day I set foot on a journey that totally, totally changed my mind....It’s like an awakening...I saw places… I saw people… I found cultures that are so rich and heavy in history and so full of colors. I was mesmerized and now immensely hooked....I gotta go...I gotta see....I gotta experience and feel the beat of their rhythm.....I want to stay…even just a wee bit longer…….
Then……whack!!!!! Waaaaake up!!!!!!!! Reality hits me on the head….I can’t do it!! I can only see glimpses on short visits…. just enough to tease me and want moooore!!
How I envy you vt-ers that roam around this beautiful, beautiful world. Ever so free to go at any time and anywhere and any length….so carefree…..
I can only dream and wish….and wish….and wish……come on in…. share my dreams…..
