Within a days drive of the capital you come to the stark arid lands of the north. Don't be fightened of the distances. Many roads through this area are of a good standard. It is only when you leave these main routes that extreme caution must me used. The desert is a harsh place and must be respected.

It does rain here occasionally though. Because I now live in a place that other australians consider rainy, I am always blamed for "bringing the weather with me"
Here you see a truck called a road train, these big trucks with multiple trailers travel through the centre of the country.........and demand right of way on the roads!

This is a typical little country town in the farming area of the mid-north.
This area breeds very large sheep, very large footballers.......and me.
