My life

I was born in 1943, and belong to the generation that left home early. At the age of 15 , I became a ship boy.

I sailed a couple of years on the seven seas, visited twenty countries, and five continents. Came back and leant to be a printer. I got my own printery, went bankrupted, took my guitar on my shoulder and walked around the Mediterranean Sea, wondering what to do next. It took me nine years.
On the way I worked as a street musicians, piano player, barman, shark fisherman, weapon dealer, date and olive picker, tourist guide and destination manager.

In the last ten years, I have been visiting about half of the 117 countries I have visitet.

I know a lot of being able to travel well on a tiny budget and still get around the entire world.
I have been in countries such as Greenland in the north, the land of fire (tierra del Fuego) in the south, Mexico in the West and Vietnam in the east.

I have swum in the Red sea, the Dead Sea, lake Titicaca, the Blackdam and the Damhouse Sea.

I have been living with the Indians, the Berberss, the Laps, the Gipsies, the Eskimos, the Masai, and Pakistanis. Not to mention the people I lived with, during the fifteen years I lived in Saxogade in the red lamp area in Copenhagen; Gays, lesbians, male and female hustlers, pimps and pickpockets.

The most beautiful experiences I ever had, might be seeing the icebergs on the west coast of Greenland, the Negev Desert in Israel or the nature on Tierra de Fuego in Argentina.

The most exiting place I have been to, could be Harlem in New York, the discotheque in Sukkertoppen (the sugar top) in Greenland, Backpackers Paradise in Punta Arenas in Chile, or the shantytowns in Port-au-prince in Haiti.

The worst thing about travelling is, in my opinion, the smoking ban on flights and in buses.

I wrote the book “Hilsen fra Afrika” (Hello from Afrika), “Hilsen fra Caribien” (Hello from The caribbean) tour manuscripts scripts for Tjaereborg travel and many articles for local newspapers.
