"Weert, no less than Weert" Weert by benschattenberg
Weert Travel Guide: 6 reviews and 9 photos
Situated along the Zuid-Willemsvaart River, Weert is a nice combination of an industrial town (with lots of interesting industrial architecture) and a nice, burgundis, typical southern-dutch city. It combines a long history with modernity.
Situated in the western part of the province of Limburg, Weert has a good connection with cities like Eindhoven and the rest of Holland, but also with major Belgian cities like Bree and german cities.
Weert is the gateway between Limburg and the rest of the world.

If I visit Weert, I will also visit Bree. Years ago, I had a penfriend from Bree who was a keen deltiologist with thousands of postcards. Unfortunately, he has passed away. If I can just visit his grave to remember our friendship, I will be happy.
Looking forward for our VT meeting on 9 july.
